Vintage Jewelry: Just A Little Bit of Sparkle
I love that these vintage choker necklaces from the 1950s have just a hint of sparkle with tiny rhinestones or painted enamel. They're the perfect accompaniment to a cute vintage day dress or even to dress up a plain white tee and jeans.

View from the Studio: Pretty Little Blouses
It's such a beautiful day outside so while I'm in the studio for now catching up on work, I couldn't help but showcase how brilliantly sunny it is right outside the studio window. Photographing these vintage blouses later this afternoon and they'll all be available in the shop this evening! Stay tuned my lovelies!

Vintage Clothing Shop Preview: 1960s Dresses
The shop is receiving a large update of dresses over the next few days! My favorite is probably the brown and white plaid Mod dress with the double panel of buttons along the front, it's something I see Alexa Chung or Zooey Deschanel wearing! Pair it with black tights, little loafers or ankle boots and you're set!
Be sure to visit Adorevintage to see what's new!

A Preview of Vintage Coats from the 1960s + 1970s
I spent the morning thrifting for more coats for the shop. It's so difficult to stock the shop up with outerwear because in California it hardly gets colder than 60 degrees. So whenever I see a thick furry coat I'm like "Oh goodness, it's so hot, I can't get that!" So, today I thrifted around and found a large furry red coat that reminds me of something Rachel Zoe might wear (it's faux fur!) and a couple of other vintage outerwear from the 60s and 70s. Again, a bit warm for Cali weather, but perfect for you gals living in Wintry climates!
I also found a couple little vintage dresses & a couple vintage satchel bags (debating on keeping one of them). Here's a sneak peek at the vintage coats!

New Vintage Inspired Fashion Editorial (A Little Preview)
A couple of weeks ago I styled a vintage inspired photoshoot with my lovely friend, Sade. We traveled along the California coast being inspired by the landscape. You might remember the backstage photos from this post: Behind the Scenes, AV Fashion Editorial.
I am so excited to share the full editorial with you on AV soon! But for now, here is a little sampling of vintage inspired loveliness.

This shoot was so fun! I even got to try my hand at hair styling! I wanted to do really soft romantic hairstyles, yay, so very happy with the photos!!! I hope you love them as much as I do!

Easy Glamour: Wear A Vintage Hat!
When did wearing a hat go out of fashion? I fondly look at photos of women in vintage magazines and catalogs and greatly wish women wore hats on a regular basis! There are just so many fantastic choices out there!
I completely detest baseball caps on women (although, I have been known to quickly throw one on when I go for a jog...). Come on ladies, let's bring back "the hat".
Did you know the hat is Dita Von Teese's favorite accessory?
"I also used clothes as a way to counteract my extreme shyness when I was younger. I wore a lot of extravagant vintage hats, which can make people somewhat intimidated. I think people will only approach if they have something very, very interesting to say to the girl in the outrageous hat!"
And speaking of outrageous hats...well, perhaps not outrageous... but definitely noteworthy... coming soon to the vintage shop, vintage hats from the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s! Oh, and one sun hat from the Edwardian era!!!
The vintage hats arriving in our shop, especially the vintage hats from the 1940s, really have me wishing my hair was longer again so I could style it in pincurls and victory rolls and top it off with a pretty little hat. At the moment my hairstyle best suits a 1920s style cloche, but I rarely see these and when I do they cost nearly an arm and a leg *sigh*
Posting more vintage hat inspirations later on... btw, Happy October everyone!

{ Preview } Friday Shop Updates: Delicates As White As Snow
Vintage lace slips, chiffon peignoirs, ruffled bodices, and dainty bows all coming soon to the shop!
Vintage sleepwear and loungewear used to be so lovely, nowadays it's so easy for us women to slip on sweatpants and a baggy t-shirt. I think we should bring back delicate and feminine nightwear! Aren't all of these just so sweet?

The details on these blouses (two are vintage, one is "modern" vintage - i.e. vintage inspired) are so feminine and sweet. From pale periwinkle polka dots, to sheer floral lace detailed sleeves, to the very faint blushing pink grid pattern... so much loveliness!
