In the 80s I had white rollerskates with rainbow laces. The patrons of the Saturday morning session at the Rollerama all wanted to be me.
Oroku Saki was a nice touch. Not sure about the relevance of the year though. Surely they could have dug up some piece of obscure Turtle lore to reference for all those smug fanboys and fanbitches out there to nod their smug, oily heads solemnly and chortle 'Ha! Quite so...'? Otherwise, it reminds me of the nightmarish frog eating sequence from Les Triplettes de Belleville and the woodchipper from Fargo. Not to mention ye olde Play Doh Barbie Hair set. But why Mikey? For all that's good and holy, why not that computer game playing nerd Donatello?
I'm back with a shiny new Interweb connection, and a month worth of credit from the offending Interweb company! Woot! For my first call of duty, I'd like to shatter all your hopes and dreams for the new Transformers movie.
Here's one for you 80s kids (ok, another one), and at a bargain sale price of US$9.95. Ok so grey was the most retarded colour they could have picked, and there's no info about the brand or anything at all for that matter... but it's ten bucks.
Unlike G.I. Joe, his super-nemesis Cobra Commander was never allowed to give a public service announcement at the end of the episode. And although his foray into psa-ing comes in the form of a borrowed song lyric, you still have to appreciate that he's trying to do good.
"It's like a robot in disguise. If only said robot was a pimped out Latino gangsta with a chip on his shoulder. Who blew up giant mechanical burritos and listened to Cypress Hill while he did his robotic lawn mowing on his pimped out mower ride." Ima get Josh to write these for me every time.
God I'm a sucker for a good 80s pop culture tee! Especially one on sale, oh here's one now! I haven't seen You Can't Do That on television since I was a youngun and I don't think I want to, you know how things are just so perfect in your childhood then you look back when you're older and it turns out that 'Perfect Strangers' just wasn't that good?
So it seems that the Ghost Busters game rumours are true... not for Wii though. Ohhh the disappointment of being on the Wii team. Anyway, if you're going to be buying the game you'll need to be wearing this tee when you go into the shop. You'll get extra points.
Yes t-shirt, He-Man is the coolest. When I was young I thought Adam and She-ra we're getting it on, but then it turned out that they were related. Turns out He-man was gay anyways.
Man I wish this tee wasn't in that dodgy free font, it would be most cool. Still, it's mostly cool.
When will I stop with the 80s tees? Never I tells you, never. This little beauty from 80s tees is from Junkfood so it's soft as soft can be, and as always, Junkfood tees wash well without shrinkage and are a great fit. I'm loving the huge distressed print (see, I'm down with the kids) and the tops choice of colours. This is a particular favourite because it's not just a MLP on a tee, someone's actually used their brain and designed it. Sizes are in 'Juniors' which we don't actually have where I'm from. I've thought about it and have decided that the phenomenon of 'Juniors' must mean that everyone in the world should be skinny like famous people.
Anything that makes me think of The Mighty Boosh makes me happy so I love the arse out of me&yu. Their crazy 80's electro designs make me so very happy.
As seen a few posts down, I love this tee. And when it arrived here in Australia from the US in record time, it was all that it ever promised and more. Except that it wasn't really more, it was pretty much just what was promised. Silk-screened on top quality, well fitting 100% pre-shrunk cotton, this tee feels great against your nakey skin. In our road-test it got many comments from random strangers, 'fully sick', 'hey, that show', and 'thundercats ho!' come to mind. So, if you need to affect friends and strangers with your nostalgic know-how, this is the tee for you.
It's the word of the moment over at PalmerCash, and it truly is rad. If big scary rapper-types are wearing bright colours with stars and rainbows, I can damn well wear a bright yellow tee with 'rad' on its kisser.
'Minx' from MoreTvicar in proud pink and grey, national colours of the 80s (apart from neon - all of them) is another of my favourite tees of the minute, think I'll get me one of these.
Digital Gravel '2020' feels so familiar, maybe my dad had one when I was a kid... surely he wasn't that trendy though, even back then. If anyone recognises this from somewhere, let me know before I go mad.
Backseat Kiss 'Sex & Hairspray' may as well be a Jem and the Holograms tee.
Tank Theory 'Doom' reminds me of the Mulligrubs, If you don't know what I'm talking about, carry on about your business. If you do, ummm also carry on about your business.
This is the greatest tee ever - I bought it just before writing this so that the irony-beast wouldn't have a chance to make me miss out. I love it and am thinking of having its babies. Wicked Cool Stuff has tees from many a cartoon series, but also tv, movies, brands, 80s, sci-fi and anything you could possibly dream of. Unsure yet on the babies front. Checky these GI Joe and Transformers tees white you're there, most are only US$16.16:
You may have seen this toast tee over at Dirty Microbe and now you can see it again because it's on sale, only $12 to taste it's toasty goodness! While we're at it, how cool are their Japanese import toys?! Rejoice and be rapt at the Nintendo cube, Mario Bros. phone flasher, and - joy of all joys - the teeny, cool yet completely pointless mini-phone. I was going to marry their Nintendo keyrings but their supplier isn't making them anymore so my personal life is in ruins. But don't worry about me, you have your own lives to lead.
