Artist Spotlight: InaLuxe | Kristina Sostarko + Jason Odd

I am loving the retro inspired patterns and the happy mix of colors from Australian based artists Kristina and Jason. The designs remind me mid-century modern vintage art, kind of that atomic 50's look. You can purchase their prints here.

Vintage Room Envy: Mid-Century Modern & Painted Women Gallery

I love the clean lines of Mid-Century furniture and the dark wood grains. I think when it comes to interior design I'm caught between the 1950s modern house and the 19th Century French countryside château where everything is in varying shades of cream, eggshell, and antique white. I couldn't picture our house being decked out in so much mid-century furniture and decor as the one pictured here, but there are many enviable elements. The painted portraits (I love those but can never bring myself to buy one...), that beautiful credrenza, and the yellow Herman Miller-esque rocking chair.

Je t'aime: Vintage illustrations from the 1940s and 1950s Depicting Amour

I simply adore vintage illustrations depicting love and happy couples (in advertisements mostly). They are a little cheesy, but so very romantic. Don't deny it, you know you've fantasized about being swept off your feet (wearing a gorgeous vintage dress, of course!) and being kissed as if you were in a TCM movie.

10 Mid-Century Modern Interiors, Mixing Old + New

I love Mid-Century modern furniture because the lines are clean and simple. Nothing is ever too bulky or too fussy. I also love all the wood grain colors.

I'm currently in love with the { Eames DSW } chair with wooden legs (pictured in 3 + 5). I need end chairs for our dining room and I feel these would be a great fit. At first I was seriously considering the Louis Ghost chairs, but can you imagine how annoying it would get to see fingerprints and marks on all that clear acrylic? And I'm slightly OCD... it would not bode well.

Paris flea market meets Mid-century modern, I think that describes these interior decor inspirations quite well (most of these anyway, some of them are just shabby chic). I think our home is flea market modern too. Well, getting there anyway.

10 Inspiring Home Interiors

After about two months of living in LA, I'm finally starting to feel like planting my roots in the ground (well until we move again...LOL) This means HOUSE DECORATING! The interiors posted below lean towards a shabby bohemian feel. Sometimes I really love that "pretty + messy" look and other times I suddenly want super streamlined, mid-century modern simplicity. There has to be a happy medium, right? More design and interior posts in the future as I move forward with turning our LA house into a home.
