I don't know about you, but I am really excited to see Water for Elephants.  And it just looks so pretty, I think it inspires a lovely wedding, don't you?  Of course, Reese and Rob make everything pretty.

So I know there are some doily lovers out there, but when most of you think of a doily you probably think of your grandmother's house or of a bad homemade valentine.  Well, the vintage wedding trend has breathed new life into the doily, and I for one am really liking the fresh take on them and all of the fun ways to use them.

It's in the Details: Burlap

So I love burlap.  Truth be told, I wanted to fill my wedding decor with burlap and similarly rustic details, but with the venue we chose it just wasn't a theme that fit.  It would have been like putting a barn on the beach.  On second thought, a barn on a beach could be amazing!  Anyhoo...back to burlap.  It is so rustic & chic, provides great texture, and it is CHEAP!  And there are so many ways you can use it.

{A Lovely Roundup} Mason Jars in Weddings

If you follow this blog, you know I am a big lover of mason jars.  In fact, as I sit in my living room now I can see 6 of them!  So I often like to revist mason jar uses for both weddings and home.  Here is a round-up of some great ways to incorporate mason jars in your wedding:

{A Lovely Roundup} Unique Escort Card Ideas

Escort cards are what tell your guests where they are to sit at your reception, but they can serve a much bigger purpose.  They can be a great place to tie in your wedding theme, decor, monogram, or color palette.  Gone are the sad little folded escort cards laid out on a plain table.  These escort cards put a more unique spin on seat assignments!

It's in the Details: Chicken Wire

Since we have long ago established that I love all things rustic, vintage, flea-markety (yes, that is a real adjective!), and country chic, I'm always looking for ways to incorporate that type of stuff into wedding and home decor.  Enter, chicken wire...

I love the look of chicken wire - the graphic pattern of it.  I think it could look really cool on a wedding stationery suite for a rustic farm or barn wedding, with little chicken wire touches in the decor.  You could have the flower girl basket and bathroom goodies baskets made out of chicken wire, and maybe the escort cards displayed on a chicken wire board like the one above.  Someone please use it in their wedding and then share the pictures with me!

Inspiration 203: Pomegranate and Plum Rustic Wedding

Continuing with the rustic theme for today I have a sweet board to share with you.  It was inspired by this very rustic shoot on Glamour and Grace.  Pomegranate red really plays nicely with a pretty plum purple and craft paper with a bit of chocolate brown thrown in.

Inspiration 201: It's in the Details

The bridesmaids looks in this board rock!  I love how they each have different color shoes and that their shoes match their accessories.  To play off this amazing look I used the colors from their shoes in all the other details of the board.  The cake in this board is pretty awesome as well, I love all the detail work on it.

It's in the Details: Feathers

I have this headband that has pheasant feathers on the side and it makes me feel fancy when I wear it.  (It also gives me a headache, but it hurts to be beautiful, right?)  I also love feather details incorporated into weddings.  Using feathers can easily be overdone, so this detail works best when incorporated sparingly.  A feather on your wedding invitation suite and then perhaps found at each place setting would be lovely.  Or feathers used in some of the florals and also in the bride's hairpiece is a nice combination.  However you do it, using feathers can add a bit of fun and fancy without taking yourself too seriously.  And depending on the type of feather (peacock, pheasant, guinea, etc.) you can incorporate your color palette as well.
