Made By Girl Love!

If you have never checked out Made By Girl's Blog, you must!  You might remember her amazing ABC Love print that she so generously donated to our Give Hope Adoption Auction

AND she even has her very own shop now!  Click here to browse all of the beautiful items in her shop.  I will leave you with some of my favorites!

What are some of your favorites?

classic wardrobe

A wardrobe that showcases clothes rather than hide them ... who woulda thought it? Mathilde Alders that's who! Elegant and practical, this French oak wardrobe has rails and hangers that can slide out and flaunt your favourite pieces. It's also super gorgeous. x

funky stools

These chunky wood stools by Darcy Clarke make me happy. I can already imagine perching myself on one of these and enjoying an early morning coffee on the front deck. What colour would you pick? I am leaning towards the natural wood. x

dream home...

This little place is found in Stockholm's archipelago. Quiet and quaint. I am a huge fan. Do you think she would let us come visit? x

desk lamp

Have you ever seen such an amazing desk lamp? I didn't think so! I love the urban and industrial feel of it. Sean Woosley used galvanized pipe, reclaimed wood, rusted pots and salvaged steel to create this statement piece.

All Sean's work is influenced by Wabi Sabi, the Japanese philosophy that 'recognises a beauty of things imperfect which bear the imprint of time'. Just beautiful. x

est

Est, the latest online design magazine to come out of Australia, was launched this morning! As usual I have no time to read it now, but come tonight I will be happily devour it with tea in hand.

Although I've only had a quick squiz over her glossy pages since she landed in my inbox, I think I may have already found a favourite spread in 'How to style the Eames chair in any setting'. With so many online magazines popping up lately, I would love to know what you think of this newbie? You can check it out here. x

bed heads with a twist

Loving the different versions of bed heads I have seen around lately. It seems anything goes, but I am particularly loving the use of brown leather pads, a stencil on ply, or carved wood for a bed head.

dream home...

This home represents my taste perfectly. Cosy, earthy tones, mismatched furniture and plenty of wood. I am loving everything about this place. How awesome is the cutlery chandelier?! There's a light hiding in the middle. x

bits and bobs

Loving these bits and pieces from Urban Outfitters. Must Have = the scratch it world map. Every time you visit somewhere new you scratch the place on the map and it changes colour. It's fun and a different way to keep track of your travels. I think it would make a great wedding or engagement present. I'd love to know what you think? I am seriously pondering getting one. x

tea towels to dry for...

Who said tea towels had to be boring? Some (like the ones above) would make a great gift, or you could turn them into a work of art by hanging them on display in the kitchen. 'Drop scones not bombs', gotta love it. x

dream home...

This hideaway in Spain is drop dead gorgeous, don't you think? I love how the stone feature walls contrast with the clean white lines. And what about the sunken seating in the living room? Pure genius! I can't believe we don't see it more often. x

Vintage Decorating: 10 Vintage Film Posters For Your Apartment

For chic and affordable artwork for your apartment, opt for vintage movie posters. There's something quite fantastic about the art and style of the 1960s, (mostly French films), but you could also go for campy movie posters or cult classics. The larger the poster, the better, they're perfect for open loft living or boxy white rooms.

Decorating with Film Posters

Where to Buy: All the posters here are available at Film Art Gallery (for ORIGINAL posters) or you can purchase NEW versions at Movie Goods

Vintage Room Envy: Hot Pink, Crystal Chandeliers, & Vintage Perfume Bottles

I am so in love, absolutely head over heels with this ultra feminine bathroom! I am definitely taking a cue for my own rather chintzy 1920s bathroom. I love that this has a lot of va-va-voom but all the lines are very clean, very simple. That is a great mix. Start off with clean simple lines and add the high glamour with vintage bottles, crystal chandeliers, and anything floral and sparkly.

Flea Market Homes: 10 Pretty & Eclectic Interiors to Inspire

There is something so cozy and welcoming about homes that have a mix of antique and new. The interiors featured here all have bits and pieces you could easily find at your local flea market or swap meet. Look for vintage linens such as floral curtains and table clothes, hand painted bowls, vintage tin cans or wire baskets for storage, and needlepoint pillowcases and ornate framed paintings. Just remember to buy what you love and what catches you eye, because as I've found, when you purchase items you cherish, it all comes together in the end.

Project Runway Design Challenge: Circus Inspired Style, My Own Take

My Own "Circus Inspired" Dress

While watching Project Runway I was inspired to draw up my own "circus" dress. Too bad I can't sew :( and I couldn't quite draw the "petals" right, they look like eggs. LOL. But they're suppose to be large floaty chiffon petals!

I do wish I could sew though, other than the simple adding buttons and simple hemming I'm pretty clueless with a sewing machine. I would have the loveliest clothes if only I could sew!

The inspiration is from what tight rope walkers or those aerial dancers would wear in the good old circus days. I would wear this to a birthday party. And the floral ribbons on the shoulders are detachable in case you don't want to look too "fairy" like. (But I like fairies... so I would definitely wear these)

10 Mid-Century Modern Interiors, Mixing Old + New

I love Mid-Century modern furniture because the lines are clean and simple. Nothing is ever too bulky or too fussy. I also love all the wood grain colors.

I'm currently in love with the { Eames DSW } chair with wooden legs (pictured in 3 + 5). I need end chairs for our dining room and I feel these would be a great fit. At first I was seriously considering the Louis Ghost chairs, but can you imagine how annoying it would get to see fingerprints and marks on all that clear acrylic? And I'm slightly OCD... it would not bode well.
