Inspiration

For the past two days I have been taking an online class through CreativeLIVE with Jasmine Star. She is a wedding photographer I greatly admire and I could not have been more inspired by her class. I wanted to share a few of my favorite quotes with you from the past two days. Many are wise words to live by even not in a photography context. Thank you Jasmine Star!
"Schedule time to help others."
"Be personal within social media. Talk back!"
"Queet, a quote tweet."
"If you're not uncomfortable, you're not working hard enough."
"Out shoot, out run, out hustle."
"Luck is when preparation meets opportunity."
"Have someone believe in you if you don't believe in yourself."
"If you don't got the funk, don't fake the funk. They will smell it."
"Put out what you want to get back. You will get clients that want you, for you."
"My goal for your engagement session is for you to have a good time, my job is to make you look good."
"It's my job to make every client, look, feel and KNOW they are beautiful."
"I am like a party in a box."
"Under promise and Over deliver."

You can read many more of my favorites on my twitter: JessKeenerPhoto and if you search for #JasmineLIVE you can read what others thought as well.

Since every post is better with photographs, although unrelated, here are two delicious things I had a taste of recently.
Vivace coffee Icecream with vanilla bean caramel in a homemade waffle cone

Foodie Friday • The Starland Cafe • Savannah, GA

This week for Foodie Friday, I am featuring a little hidden Savannah gem called The Starland Cafe. They have lots of outdoor seating which is nice for the warm Savannah weather. You couldn't ask for kinder staff. Starland is seated right next to a dog park for all of you dog lovers out there. :) Then there's the food. Oh the food! They definitely have lunch covered, serving the freshest panini, soups and salads full of lovely and unique combinations of ingredients. A few of my favorite panini include The CBG and Turkey & Hummus. If you are a vegetarian (or just a lover of veggies) their "Everything But the Kitchen Sink" salad is to die for as well as many other vegetarian and vegan options. Did I mention the soups? The best Thai Tomato Soup, Potato Soup and Turkey chili of my life! Now for some iPhone photographs I snapped on my last visit there.
The outdoor seating by their garden in the back
Daily Special: 1/2 sandwich +soup!                             The Menu

The fabulous sweet tea is always fresh and made from a variety of teas such as Earl Gray, Long Leaf, or Mango. (unsweet also available)
Greek Asparagus (vegeterian)                   The Spicy Turkey with Turkey Chilli Special

You bring a little animal sign to your table so they know where to bring your food.
My dress happened to match the restaurant that day so of course
I had my friend take a picture of me at the front.
Open Monday-Friday (11am-3pm)!

Heather & Kelley • Wedding Recreation • Savannah, GA

I want to start out by saying, I was honored and flattered to do this photo shoot for Heather and Kelley. I photographed their engagement session last year, but unfortunately I was booked on their wedding date. Sadly, Heather and Kelley were incredibly unhappy with their wedding photos from the other photographer they hired. It has now been 10 months since their wedding and Heather has been embarrassed to share the photos from their wedding day with friends and family. So when Heather and Kelley came to me to recreate wedding photographs for them, I could not have been more pleased to do so.

After Kelley saw the photographs I took, I teared up a bit from his response to them. "Yep, as I suspected..... THEY ARE AMAZING!!! Thank you Jessica :) Heather will be so happy when she sees them. You have turned what once was a nightmare, into a dream come true! We can put the old ones behind us and will both be able to cherish these pictures for the rest of our lives!"
Thank you Heather and Kelley for letting me be a part of such a special experience.

The first half of the photographs were taken at the Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge because their original wedding was held near a forest and the second half were taken at a beach on Hilton Head Island, SC because that is where they first met.

Kelley had a quick wardrobe change and came running back with Heather's bouquet.
Love this one of Heather. How gorgeous is she?
