jebus

I spied this shirt over the shoulder of the venerable web-mistress. It made me tingle, then smile, then giggle, then pause a little and say "that is FUCKING awesome". Something that is designed so slick and subtle but has such a sharp undertone. I really really really like this. I would love to wear this one around and see the reactions (wink wink).

Beyond all that, I think this quote from the interwebsite puts it most succinctly-

'From afar, Jesus stares serenely at those surrounding you. But up close, Islamic crescents cluster together in abstract patterns. Anyone close enough to know this and still want to have it out, should've already registered on your fuckwit radar.'

the ryde fish real life review

I have to be honest and say I didn't get this shirt at first. When the Funky duds site mistress handed it over to me, she neglected to tell me where it was from. My first assumption was that it was a Brazilian born again Christian pro euphemism shirt. Oh dear... But if meant ironically, funny enough.

But when the mistress informed me that it was from the surfing themed theryde.com, I could only presume that the imaged mackrel on the shirt is in fact stoned and has delusions of religious grandeur. Much better.

eio jebus real life review

Word up to Jesus. Not because I necessarily "believe" in him as such, but making a celebrity endorsement is a big move. He could have gone for Coke, or Jeep or even Nike would seem strangely appropriate. Word up to Jesus for picking EIO.

The problem is this... No body gets it. I was a little worried test driving this shirt in the real world, but I thought "It's funny, they'll get it". Alas, they didn't. I wore this to where I work in a large design practise and they didn't get it. I'm afraid that it has put a dent in my reputation as an avid Post-Structural, Existential, Darwinian Evolutionist. I feel ignorant having put my faith in the capacity of others to get stuff. Bugger...

The shirt however, was nice and soft, the graphic has a cool distressed half tone thing going on and it generally looks neat.

of offense and defence

I'm not usually a big fan of the words on a t-shirt around a picture thing, but I love this shirt from SackWear, it manages to seem horribly offensive and yet isn't really. Actually I'd probably like it more if it were offensive... offense is the best defense they say. And they would know.
